SSI League Rules

Mixed 6's
In our 6's divisions teams are required to have a minimum of 2 girls on the court at all times.

Recreational 6's: If 1 player gets points on 5 consecutive serves the team will then lose serve to the opposing team.

Intermediate 6's: If 1 player get points on 5 consecutive serves their team shall rotate allowing the next player on their team to begin serving.

Coed 4's
In our 4's division teams are to have 2 girls and 2 guys on the court at all times.

Serves in our 4's divisions are unlimited.

In all divisions teams must maintain a proper service rotation meaning all 4 or 6 players must serve in the same continuous order.

**In higher divisions you may not be rotating positions but your servers must have a proper rotational order**

League play will begin at 6:30 or 8:15 teams should be on the court 5-10 minutes prior. Should a team not have the enough players or not meet the required number of guys or girls on the court by 6:45, for the 8:15 slot by 8:30. The team with insufficient players will forfeit the match.

You play 2 Matches a night with the second set of matches starting at roughly 7:20. The 8:15 games second match will start at 9:05.

Games will be 45 minutes in length and scored on the rally points system. Meaning a point is scored on every server. Each game in a match will go to 25 points, and you play as many games in the 45 minutes as possible. You must win a game by 2 points during league play if no team gains a 2 point advantage, the first team to 27 will win that game.

Each side is allowed up to 3 hits to return the ball.

**If a ball is blocked at the and then played by the same player this counts 1 hit**

***If the ball is blocked by a player then played by another player on their team this counts as 2 hits***

Score sheets will be posted on our players deck. It is the responsibility of the team captain or a team representative to record and verify the score of their match.

There will be no referees in league play.

Playoffs will be the final week of the season and all teams will participate. We will have a Championship and Consolation bracket.

Any player who behaves in a reckless or hazardous manner that could cause injury may be asked to sit out that night or removed from our leagues depending on the seriousness of their behaviour.

Any player showing up impaired or intoxicated maybe be asked to leave the facility or not be allowed to participate.

No Spiking, Blocking or Volleying on a serve.

No use of feet or kicking is allowed, you may use any other body part to play the ball.
